Driving Tests Cancelled due to Weather Conditions

02 February 2009

More snow is forecast for tonight and tomorrow which will make driving conditions difficult. In view of this, Driver and Vehicle Standards has decided to cancel driving tests scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 3 February.

Both practical tests and theory tests have been cancelled. Where contact details are available, candidates booked on tests for Tuesday 3 February have been contacted by Driver and Vehicle Standards so that a new test appointment can be made.

Those candidates booked on tests for Tuesday 3 February who have not been contacted by Driver and Vehicle Standards should contact the department on 448600 to arrange a new test appointment.

Inspector of Motor Traffic, Alan Muir, commented: “In view of the forecast driving conditions, as a precaution, all driving tests scheduled for Tuesday have been cancelled. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it seems a sensible safety measure. We will try and find suitable alternative dates for everyone who is booked on tomorrow’s theory and practical tests. ”
