Countdown begins to Jersey Boat Show 2009

24 February 2009

The second Jersey Boat Show is taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May. The boat show is a valuable international showcase for Jersey’s marine businesses and provides an entertaining event for anyone who loves the water.

During the event, St Helier marina will come alive with boats of all shapes and sizes, new and old, from luxury yachts to kayaks. The pontoons will be open to allow visitors to stroll among the boats and get on board to have a look.

Organisers, Jersey Harbours, have put together a mix of shopping opportunities, information and educational events as well as food and drink stands. Admission to the event is free but there will be a controlled entry and exit system to the pontoons.

Jersey Harbours’ Chief Executive, Howard Le Cornu, said: “Last year’s inaugural show was hailed a great success. Once again we are delighted to be providing a great business platform for our marine traders at the start of the boating season as well as an enjoyable event for all.”

The 2009 Jersey Boat Show is organised by Jersey Harbours and supported by Economic Development, Jersey Tourism and the Jersey Marine Traders Federation.
Any organisation interested in participating in the event should contact Jersey Harbours’ Business Development Executive and Boat Show 09 co-ordinator, Sara Felton on 07797 787872.
