Business breakfast for Games visitors

29 June 2015

Jersey Business and the Economic Development Minister are holding a business breakfast this week to bring NatWest Island Games visitors with business interests together.

The event is being held on Thursday 2 July between 8.15 am and 10 am in the VIP pavilion at the Games Village in Howard Davis Park and will showcase Jersey’s potential business opportunities and provide a networking opportunity for business people – attending the Games as competitors, supporters or administrators – currently in the Island for the Games.

Promote Jersey business opportunities

Economic Development and Jersey Business have worked with Locate Jersey, Digital Jersey, IOD and the Chamber of Commerce to develop the breakfast which will:

  • outline the ‘Jersey Proposition’ and opportunities that Jersey offers for doing business
  • allow 2017 NatWest Island Games Hosts Gotland, to share their plans and opportunities to do business.

Economic Development Minister, Senator Lyndon Farnham, said: “The 2015 NatWest Island Games in Jersey has attracted thousands of visitors from around the world to either compete or support and among them many will have business interests. Thursday’s event will provide them with an opportunity to hear more about the business opportunities or links that Jersey can provide and to meet with local business people.

“I am certain that the breakfast will provide excellent opportunities for networking and showcasing the Island, along with allowing the high profile Gotland delegation an opportunity to introduce its business profile and share with locals and visitors alike, plans for the 2017 NatWest Island Games.”

A strong delegation of government and regional administrators from Gotland are due to visit Jersey for the Games and following the breakfast will spend a day with Economic Development, representatives from other States Departments and various business groups or companies, in a series of meetings to identify potential areas for future cooperation.
