About industry training
Industry training is a blend of classroom training and on site work experience provided by Back to Work to give you a head start in particular industries.
It offers training courses in specific areas such as:
- early years
- ILM business training
- pathway to care

These training courses are followed by a work experience placement with a local employer.
Who industry training is for
Industry training is available to anyone who is:
- registered as actively seeking work
- in receipt of income support
- locally qualified for work
You will be expected to prove that you are keen to improve your skills in one of the training areas and committed to finding a job.
What industry training involvesWhen you join industry training, you will be assigned an Employment Advisor (if you don't have one already) who will work with you to:
support you throughout your time on the programme
help you develop your CV

help you search and apply for jobs
Training is an important part of the programme and is tailored to the needs of local businesses. It is delivered by experts and designed to prepare you for your work placement. Some programmes give you the opportunity to complete qualifications.
