The BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions is a full University of Exeter degree aligned to the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship.

Cost for employers A typical apprentice salary is recommended between £27,000 to £33,000 depending on previous experience and knowledge. Final salary and benefits package is at the discretion of the company and will vary. Benefits package should include annual leave entitlement and study leave and may incorporate travel costs associated with residential learning.
Currently, there are no Government of Jersey grants to cover the costs of apprentices to local businesses, but f unding is available for first time students to help them cover their tuition fees.
How the digital apprentice scheme works Degree apprentices are employed by you but study with the University of Exeter for a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions degree over 4 years.
Apprentices are required to spend 20% of their contracted working time studying on the course. The University runs a blended flexible learning format which combines a mix of on campus learning (block release for a week in September, January and May) and online resources, to minimise disruption in the work place.

Information for aspiring digital degree apprentices The degree is aimed at aspiring technology solutions professionals looking to develop, protect and improve products, services and productivity through the implementation of technology solutions.
Apprentices need to be employed and have their employer's support to enrol on the university degree course.

How students can apply Already in full time employment If you are looking at the Digital and Technology Solutions Degree to re-skill or up-skill whilst already employed, you should discuss the benefits with your line manager or HR team about applying.
You will need to get signoff at the relevant levels of approval before you can complete the application form for the apprenticeship.

Applying for an advertised digital degree apprenticeship role You will first need to apply with a business that offers a digital degree apprenticeship. Different employers will have different selection processes and you may have to attend an interview or have additional stages to complete.
The University of Exeter will check with the employer that you meet the eligibility and entry criteria for the degree during this process.
Once you receive an offer from an employer, you can complete the application form for the apprenticeship.

Fees and funding
If you are a first time degree student you can apply for funding support through Student Finance.
Alternatively, this apprenticeship meets the criteria to receive up to 50% of the annual tuition fees covered through the Trackers Programme.
Tuition fees are set by the University of Exeter at £6,250 per year.

Programme structure Apprentices will work a full-time job with 20% of their contracted time devoted to studying towards the degree and gaining off the job learning over 4 years. The study programme has been designed to minimise disruption to the apprentice's daily role.
The blended teaching programme used by the University of Exeter provides apprentices with on campus teaching blocks at the Streatham Campus during September, January and May. This is supported by a weekly remote learning element comprising of online classes, workshops, interactive exercise, recorded lectures and an assessed work-based learning project.
Mentor support The programme is supported on Jersey by Trackers, who will provide apprentices access to locally Jersey based mentors and coaches to support and guide apprentices through their apprenticeship.
