About Dreaming Trees
Dreaming Trees will return to Howard Davis Park from 10 February to 17 February 2024.
The park will be illuminated every day from 6pm to 9pm.
No dogs (except assistance dogs) are allowed to enter Dreaming Trees in Howard Davis Park, keeping in line with park restrictions.
The project provides an opportunity to learn more about Jersey’s trees and the scientific research that shows how trees communicate, share resources and react to the world around them using underground connections known as the ‘wood wide web’.
The department for Infrastructure and Environment, in association with the Creative Island Partnership and with sponsorship by Rathbones Investment Management International, are encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the parks this winter.
Neurodiverse quieter night
On Sunday 18 February from 6pm to 8pm, Dreaming Trees will be open for those who will benefit from a quieter experience. Background noise and music will be switched off and the number of visitors will be moderated.
This is a free event but you will need to book a ticket as the number of people in the park will be limited. You don't need to book tickets for anyone under the age of 5.

The resource guide for families and groups explains how to use the Dreaming Trees resources. Activities in the packs include scavenger hunts, nature walks, crafts using natural materials, sounds, tree facts and identification.

Resource packs including information and activities for those aged 14 years and over are also available. Activities include a digital scavenger hunt, wellbeing and mindfulness, measuring air pollution and actions to help protect our trees.

Over the winter, we can think of trees as sleeping as they conserve their energy and wait for spring. If trees are sleeping, perhaps they dream. What do you think trees dream of?
