Who can apply for the long-term care scheme
To apply you need to:
- be over 18 years old
- have lived in Jersey continuously as an adult for the 10 years immediately before you apply, or
- have lived in Jersey for ten years continuously as an adult in the past and for the year immediately before applying
If you apply before the age of 28, you must have lived in Jersey for a continuous ten-year period at any age, and one year immediately before claiming.
If you have not lived in Jersey for a continuous ten year period, you may be eligible for financial help with long-term care costs if you meet the Income Support residency criteria.
How to apply
Before you can join the long term care scheme, you need an assessment by a health and social care professional.

When your health assessment is complete you will be referred to the long-term care team.
