You can recycle wood ash but you cannot recycle coal ash
Wood ash can be:
- added to your home composting bin
- used as soil fertiliser
- taken to the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre. You need to bag it and put in the kitchen waste container
- bagged and put in your general household waste
Coal ash is potentially harmful to:
- soil
- plants
- consumers of edible produce
It should be put in your general household waste.
