About the consultation
The Minister for Health and Social Services has proposed to introduce regulations that would govern care for Islanders, whether they are in a care home, or being cared for in their own home. To do this, a new law is needed, before a new regulatory framework, which would govern all care, can be put forward.
The new law would replace an out of date law which is no longer effective and currently means that privately owned care homes are regulated, while other homes, such as those owned by the Health and Social Services Department, and care in someone's own home, is not.
This is not a public consultation, we would only like to hear from stakeholders.
