About the consultation
We want to introduce rules on election advertising on roads to make sure election material are put up and removed safely.
The rules would make sure statutory signage is not interfered with or advertising is not hazardous.
By election advertising we mean any material related to candidates or their campaign.
The rules will outline:
- types of advertising materials considered safe and acceptable
- how and where advertising should be placed
- when advertising should be placed and removed
Rules will apply to any election candidates and anyone supporting or against a candidate.
We want the changes to be in place a year before the next General Election in June 2026.
How to submit comments to the consultation

The survey is translated in Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.
