About the consultation
Future Jersey is the final phase of the Shaping Our Future public consultation to create a shared, long-term community vision for Jersey.
The discussion document brings together the opinions expressed by thousands of Islanders in last year’s My Jersey survey with the facts and figures on how Jersey is currently performing. It proposes a series of social, environmental and economic long-term ambitions for the Island over the next 20 years, focusing on where we want to be rather than how we are going to get there.
Islanders are being asked to give their views on whether those ambitions are the right ones. It is the last opportunity for people to have their say before the vision is finalised.
Who can respond?
Every Islander has a stake in the Jersey’s future and for the long-term vision to be a truly shared vision, we need to hear from as many people as possible.
Future Jersey is split between the three themes of:
- community
- environment
- economy
Although one of these areas might interest some people more than others, we hope Islanders will comment on as many ambitions as possible as the vision will focus on the big picture and how everything fits together.
