About the consultation
The Minister for the Environment has launched a public consultation on the next stage of a review of permitted development, ie what people can do to their home, garden or business without applying for planning permission.
The focus of this next consultation includes the following areas:
- work to and within the garden of listed buildings and places
- livestock shelters on land and oyster farming in Grouville Bay
- public utilities and work to private roads
- surveillance equipment
- replacement conservatory roofs
- satellite dishes, awnings, rainwater goods
- industrial sites and demolition

The Minister for the Environment is grateful to all those who participated in the focus group workshops and the online survey. The minister has taken all the comments submitted into account in forming his direction. The minister will release his direction paper shortly.
