About the consultation
This Consultation Paper sets out the Minister for Planning and Environment’s proposals to encourage community engagement in the planning process.
This procedural guidance note has been developed by the Department of the Environment in response to a growing desire for community groups to interact and engage with the planning process and the Minister, Deputy Rob Duhamel, would like to hear the views of those interested in and affected by the guidance.
The aim is to encourage as many people as possible participate in the decisions that affect the shape of our environment and our lives and for community groups to apply their creative ideas and energy to the shaping of their own environments, and in particular, to encourage them to work together in the development of village plans and new guidance for specific parts of the Island.
