About the consultation
The new heritage protection system, proposed by the Planning and Environment Minister, will have one form of protection - a Listed building or place. This would replace the current system of two different types of historic protection in the Island.
There are also proposals to create new Conservation Areas, set up a new publicly accessible record of the historic environment and carry out a full re-survey of all the Islands historic assets to assess their place within the new system.
How to submit comments to the consultation
The minister would like the views and comments of people who are interested in and affected by the protection of the historic environment. In particular he would welcome views from owners and occupiers of historic properties, as well as groups and individuals with an interest in Jersey’s historic environment.
