Who we are and what we do
The Population Office's aim is to enhance the overall effectiveness, efficiency and equity of migration controls in Jersey. It's the role of the Population Office to regulate migration within the Island in terms of who is entitled to live and work in Jersey.
Our responsibilities include:
- dealing with qualifications and the issue of registration cards
- dealing with applications for businesses to commence and engage migrant workers
- consideration of new migration policies
- creating, maintaining and monitoring a population register
Another part of our role is the management of the Housing and Work Advisory Group who provide advice and direction to the Population Office.
