The Approved Code of Practice (ACoP), ‘The Safe Operation of Skip and Hook Loaders’ came into force on Thursday 1 November 2018.
The Code provides practical guidance on how to address the well-recognised dangers associated with skip and hook loaders during skip operations.
The ACoP also sets out the standards relating to:
- the inspection, examination and maintenance of vehicles and lifting equipment
- the training and assessment of competence of skip operators
