Prohibition Notices

Two immediate Prohibition Notice were served:

  • one relating to unsafe work at height on a construction site

Figure 1: Before, work from open trestles and ladders          

Figure 2: After, appropriate guardrails installed

  • one relating to the removal of asbestos containing materials in an unsafe manner

Figure 3: Asbestos containing roof tiles removed without PPE or safe system of work

Improvement Notices

Two Improvement Notices were also served:                

  • one relating to a failure to provide suitable and sufficient training to employees whose work could forseeably expose them to asbestos (asbestos awareness training)
  • one relating to a failure to assess the risks presented by underground services and provide a safe system of work during excavation
