A new Director of Health and Safety for the Health and Safety Inspectorate (HSI) has been appointed and approved by the States Employment Board, following the retirement of Tammy Fage.
With over 20 years of experience with the Health and Safety Executive Elaine Harbour brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role, including leading on investigation policy and the response to major incidents following the Buncefield explosion. Most recently, she was Head of Operational Policy managing a team of regulators and policy advisers setting up the new Building Safety Regulator in response to the Grenfell tragedy.
In her previous roles, Elaine has demonstrated her ability to lead and develop policy and strategy, as well as her experience in investigation and enforcement. Her familiarity in liaising with senior management teams and government officials will be invaluable in her new role.
