The salary figures are the same, regardless of specialty. The salary scale for permanent Consultants ranges between £78,261 and £142,453 per annum. A locum Consultant on a Health and Social Services Department (HSSD) salary would have access to the same salary scale range. The last three points of the pay scale are by panel agreement only.
An agency locum Consultant is paid per hour and can range between £80 and £105.
