A
The average time for an ambulance to attend a 999 call in 2016 has been broken down into call type, Category A calls 6 minutes and 54 seconds. Category B calls 7 minutes and 42 seconds. Category C calls 10 minutes and 44 seconds.
These are given as the mean average.
There is no set target and figures are not comparable with current UK response times.
B
We have taken this question to mean the longest wait for an ambulance to a ‘red’ (prioritised emergency) call. In 2016 the longest wait was 58 minutes. This patient had a healthcare professional with them who was advised of the delay which was due to the crew being diverted to a cardiac arrest call.
C
First Responders were called out 41 times in 2016 and 37 times during 2015.
D
First Responders have only been called out once so far in 2017.
E
The Fire Service were called out 31 times to give assistance as co-responders for the ambulance service last year and nine times during 2015.
F
The Fire Service have been called out three times so far this year to give assistance as co-responders for the ambulance service.
