The Education Department has stated that we have links with universities in the United Kingdom to get their science and maths graduate teachers to come to Jersey. How many have come to the Island to take up teaching posts in the last two years?
Response
The number of graduate science and maths teachers that have come to Jersey as a result of the links with universities in the UK is fewer than five.
Due to the small number represented above, the Education Department have determined that revealing the actual figure could lead to the identitification of the individuals concerned and therefore Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article 25 Personal Information
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.
(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if:
(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and
(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
