Please can you tell me how many unqualified teachers apart from those studying with JGTTP are there teaching in Jersey schools at present?
Response
A qualified teacher is defined as an individual who has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or the Jersey Graduate Teacher Training Programme (JGTTP)
The number of individuals who have not completed, or are not working towards completing, either a PGCE or the JGTTP, teaching in Jersey schools is fewer than five.
Due to the small number represented above, the Education Department have determined that revealing the actual figure would likely breach the privacy of the individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied.
The data above represents only States of Jersey maintained and fee-maintained schools. It does not include the private schools Beaulieu Convent School, FCJ, De La Salle College, Helvetia House School, St Christopher’s School, St George’s Preparatory and St Michael’s School.
