Please provide the following data in respect of HIV diagnoses and treatment in Jersey for each year over the period 2010 to 2016.

A

The number of people recorded as living with HIV

B

The number of people newly diagnosed as HIV positive

C

The number of people receiving treatment for HIV

D

The total cost of treatment for HIV

A

Numbers given take into account patients leaving and returning to the island.

B

Numbers given include both those arriving with an HIV diagnosis and those diagnosed for the first time in Jersey.

From 2014 onwards treatment was offered to all patients at all stages of HIV infection. Some patients were lost to follow up but were thought to be living, at least for some months of the year, in Jersey and some declined early treatment.

The above are HIV drug costs based on pharmacy IT held data. Drug costs account for most of the direct HIV related expenditure.

The Health and Social Services Department does not hold the information requested for 2010 and 2011. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.
