In the UK when a patient’s operation is cancelled by the hospital at the last minute for nonclinical reasons, the hospital should offer another date within a maximum of 28 days or fund the patient’s treatment at the time and hospital of their choice.

No cancellations were due to a lack of hospital beds.

23 operations were cancelled for nonclinical reasons from 1 January 2015 to 31 March 2015.

23 operations were cancelled for nonclinical reasons from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2014.

21 operations were cancelled for nonclinical reasons from1 January 2013 to 31 March 2013.
