The equivalent scheme in Jersey is called the Periodic Technical Inspection (PTI).
A
A full minibus test lane is in place at La Collette which includes a roller brake tester and emission tester.
There are also two motorcycle test lanes in place which are currently in the testing phase.

The PTI’s of minibuses and motorcycles will commence from 1 April 2019. Each motorcycle lane can accommodate 29 motorcycles per day.
The mini bus lane can accommodate up to a maximum of nine minibuses each day, however this test lane will also be used for other categories of vehicle testing when it is not being used for minibuses.

One member of staff will be required per lane when running at full capacity.

£138,601 has been allocated for two vehicle examiners and one Traffic Officer, of which one vehicle examiner will be additional to the existing staff. These staff will also undertake other inspection duties related to commercial and PSV vehicle testing.

£41,540 has been spent on the two new motorcycle testing lanes which are required for PTI’s
The minibus testing will be carried out on the existing testing facility.

The operating hours for testing will be between 08.30 and 16.00 Monday to Friday. (excluding bank holidays)
