Please provide updated numbers of yellow, white, purple and red plates currently issued, broken down by taxi cab Company.

B

Also advise percentage of wheelchair accessible taxis now operating from the public ranks.

Also advise the current requirements for PSV badge holders to be issued their own purple or white plate.

The taxi plate numbers have not been broken down by taxi cab company as these details are exempt under Article 33 (Commercial Interests) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 as this information is commercially sensitive.

20% of the vehicles that currently have access to the public ranks are wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Please note that white plates are no longer being issued.

Taxi plates are the property of the Minister for Infrastructure and are issued to the next eligible PSV badge holder on the waiting list once a taxi plate is surrendered.

Any new purple taxi plate holder is required to operate a suitable Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) for a period of five years. The vehicle must be less than six years old or have covered less than 60,000 miles and with emissions no more than 175g/km CO2)

The badge holder would be required to pass the Wheelchair Assistance Training, fit the vehicle with an approved roof sign and meter, affiliate to a company or dispatching entity to work from, obtain a business licence and arrange to have the vehicle inspected and plated by DVS.
