At a Council of Ministers meeting dated the 14 March 2018 (MC/MH/124) an employee of Ports of Jersey, accompanied by the Director of EDTSC, gave the Council of Ministers assurances that the RNLI Crew would have a fully local replacement crew up and running by the 14th September 2018 (6 months). With this information the Council of Ministers decided not to support the newly formed Jersey Lifeboat Association. Given that this assurance proved wildly inaccurate - it is now November 2019 and RNLI crew are still being provided by the UK. Can you provide excerpts from Council of Ministers meeting where the matter was discussed, as it was “acknowledged that (at some future date) this [a Committee of Inquiry] could be the only mechanism capable of establishing the facts of the matter to the satisfaction of all parties”.
Response
A search of subsequent Council of Ministers meeting minutes has been undertaken using the keywords `Jersey Lifeboat Association’, ‘lifeboat’, `RNLI’ and ‘R.N.L.I’. No results were found.
