Request
I am currently running a research project into the retail outlets within our NHS hospitals and trusts across the UK.
Under the freedom of information act, I am hoping you can inform me who runs your retail outlets, whether this is an in house or outsourced operation and when the next time you will be reviewing these contracts are in each of your hospitals?
Response
Government of Jersey Health and Community Services Department (HCS) provides hot and cold food and other refreshments ‘in house’ through the HCS Catering Department. There are two ‘non-in house’ offerings
1. A sandwich bar which provides sandwiches and refreshment through a rental agreement.
2. The General Hospital League of Friends Cafeteria which provides sandwiches, confectionary and refreshments on a rent free basis with all profit then being made available for hospital equipment donations and other charitable contributions.
