Request
A
I would like to know the total cost to the taxpayer of R61/2020 - Commissioner of Standards - Investigation of Complaint of Breach of the Code of Conduct for Elected Members made by Mr Nick Le Cornu against Deputy S.M. Wickenden.
B
I would also like to know when Mr Paul Kernaghan's performance as the Commissioner of Standards is up for review bearing in mind many of his reports appear to reflect his non residential presence and limited knowledge of Jersey.
Response
A
The cost of the enquiry into the complaint against Deputy Wickenden was £400.
B
Under Article 4(2) of the Commissioner for Standards (Jersey) Law 2017, the Commissioner for Standards serves a fixed term of up to five years and, under Article 4(4), a person cannot be appointed to the office more than once. The current Commissioner was appointed on 21 August 2017 for a five year term; his term of office will therefore finish on 21 August 2022.
