Please could you provide usage details of the covid-19 isolation exemption scheme for those arriving in Jersey?
Specifically:
number of people using it
reason for people using it
if exempt for work, please specify the users role and industry
date in which it was used I understand that this question has been answered before but I would like the same information but up until the present day.
For clarity, this is the scheme I am talking about:
Request permission not to self-isolate for work purposes (critical workers)
Response
26 October 2020 to 15 November 2020: 163 exemptions approved:
Total number of workers: 282 (arrivals from 26 October 2020 to 07 December 2020)
16 November to 21 December: 178 exemptions approved:
Total number of workers: 309 (arrivals from 23 November 2020 to 03 January 2021)
Total exemptions approved: 341
Total of workers: 591
Note: Companies such as NMCN and its subcontractors, Legendre Constructors or ROK Construction have a rotation system with their workers, who are traveling to Jersey on a regular basis.
There are about 150 different roles from 70 different companies. The vast majority are from the Construction sector. We also receive requests from sectors such as Healthcare, Agriculture, Animal Welfare, Finance, and Mechanics.
Previous period compassionate requests approved: 7 (Funeral / dying relative in hospital)
Current period compassionate requests approved: 11
Previous period medical exemptions: 3 (heavy mental health issues)
Current period medical exemptions: 2 (Heavy mental health issues / cancer treatment)
