Request
Please send me the detailed plan for getting the 'large groups of people' envisaged, particularly the vulnerable, up to Fort Regent for Covid-19 vaccinations safely.
A prompt response would be greatly appreciated as people who want to have the vaccinations are fearful of the risks inherent in getting to the venue and the start date is very close.
Response
We have put in place a number of measures to ensure that we have in place a safe system of work for those attending. We understand there might be certain level of anxiety so we have worked hard to ensure our centre meets infection control and prevention measures, and our support marshals are there to help and will be making sure everyone complies with current COVID-19 guidelines.
To support people in attending we have made it easier for people to get to Fort Regent; including the option of restricting road access, this will ensure that the smooth flow of people through the Vaccination Centre is not disrupted because traffic volumes stop people from getting there for their allocated time.
We have also put in place a shuttle bus service, with six seats and wheelchair space, which will operate from Liberation Station Stand 'O', with a service every 20 minutes during Vaccination Centre opening times between 11.30 to 18.30 Monday to Friday and 0830 to 1530 at the weekends. Floors 10, 11 and 12 of Pier Road Multi-Storey Car Park will be designated COVID-19 vaccine parking, there will be a two-hour free parking limit.
