Expenditure of £2.2m has been incurred on the Design and Delivery Partner to undertake the studies that informed a detailed options appraisal and the production of the site selection report, which is available in the following link:

Overdale was identified as the Government of Jersey’s preferred site for a new hospital for Jersey in August 2020. The total project expenditure since then to the end of May 2021 was £27.99m, which includes land acquisition costs, design work for the hospital and for access, and associated work, such as the move of services to the former Les Quennevais School site.

How many firms were considered in the selection process on the hospital development?

Following significant market engagement, three firms formally entered into the selection process for the Design and Delivery Partner.

The land and buildings required to assemble the site are being acquired through negotiation and agreement of fair compensation with owners, and should, in the last resort, compulsory purchase powers prove necessary, an independent Board of Arbitrators will make an assessment of compensation for landowners.

There are no other plans for the Government of Jersey and the Our Hospital Project to pay compensation to residents in the area.
