Request
In 2019 a Teacher Survey was undertaken, the results for this have not yet been released. A previous Freedom of Information response published on 30 October 2020 stating the aim was for it to be released by the end of 2020. This has still not happened nine months later.
2019 Teachers Survey (FOI)
I request the release of:
If none of the following is available (again) an exact date that the results will be released
Response
The Department had intended to analyse and publish the teachers’ survey by the end of 2020. However, resources from the Department’s Informatics Team were diverted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The results have since been analysed, however, the Department concluded that a publication of the results after such considerable time since the survey was conducted would not reflect the current views of the workforce. For this reason, the Department have planned a new survey which will be released in November 2021. The latest survey will provide up to date and relevant views from teachers. The Department will publish the results of the 2019 survey alongside the forthcoming 2021 survey results. This will enable both sets of results (along with results from the 2015 and 2017 survey) to be examined in context and provide meaningful analysis of the views of the teaching workforce, as opposed to the 2019 results being published in isolation and now out-of-date.
This will be published in early 2022, the exact date is not yet confirmed but will be available on the Government website.
Since the last teachers’ survey, consultation also took place for the Education Reform Programme and the Independent Inclusion Review.
