When a traveller to Jersey tests positive for Covid, does the government:
A
Provide accommodation in which to isolate
B
Cover the cost of any accommodation, food and beverage?
C
Which establishments are provided as isolation accommodation?
D
What, if any, cost does the provision / retention of such accommodation cost the taxpayer?

Has the taxpayer had to cover the cost for isolating travellers, who have tested positive and, if so, what is to cost to date?

A
The Government of Jersey can provide accommodation for a traveller to Jersey who tests positive for COVID 19.
B
The Government of Jersey can provide cover for the cost of accommodation and beverage if the traveller is unable to pay for it themselves.
C
The Covid Safe Team have a list of 150 various hotels that they send out to individuals who test positive on arrival into Jersey. This is no particular order, and some hotels take positives and others do not if they are full / busy.
D
The Covid Safe team do not retain any accommodation so there is no cost involved.

The total cost of inbound travellers who have tested positive and were unable to pay for their accommodation amounted to £5,608.33 (1 January 2021 – 30 August 2021)
