Request
How many staff are currently employed by the Government of Jersey?
Please provide details of how many employees are regularly working from home in the UK? Please also provide the salary bands of those working from the UK?
Response
As at the 31st December 2021 there were 7566 staff currently employed by the Government of Jersey.
Information relating to any informal working arrangements and working locations is not available centrally and would require manual enquiries to confirm with all staff their current working arrangements and location. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
A Scheduled Public Authority (SPA) is not required to manipulate and create new data sets, but to provide the requester with information the SPA holds which has been specifically requested.
Even if the Department were to hold the information, providing a breakdown of salary bands and residential jurisdiction would likely identify individuals and therefore would be exempt under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.
Note: zero-hour staff are not included in the above response.
