Request
A recent response to a Freedom of Information request showed a sharp increase in the amount paid out in Ministerial Discretionary payments over the last three years.
Ministerial discretionary payments (FOI)
I would be grateful if a breakdown of the reasons for granting the payments could be provided - this can be provided in themes such as housing, health or other rather than a detailed explanation that would risk identifying those who benefited from the payments.
Pease provide the list for every year since 2012.
How many individuals did those payments related to?
Response
The information as requested is not held in a format for the purpose of Freedom of Information. Any information held would be on individual records and it is estimated that to interrogate these records would far exceed the time limits prescribed under Regulation therefore Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.
We therefore are unable to provide the reasons for the payments or the number of individuals those payments related to.
Article applied
Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive
A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
