C

All patients screened at Le Bas Centre are public patients. Cervical screening is a service offered to all eligible people of screening age, which is free at the point of delivery. There is no private cervical screening programme. Participants can call and ask for the next available appointment when they are due to be screened. This appointment is booked at the patient’s convenience as far as possible within the limitations of the clinics operating hours and appointment availability. The average waiting time is 4 weeks. If the waiting time goes beyond 6 weeks, extra clinics are scheduled in the department to meet this demand.

D

There is no waiting list for cervical screening. Participants are notified when they are due to be recalled as part of their screening cycle and are then able to contact the department to book their appointment.
