I am seeking a breakdown of how the education budget is spent. (for the academic years 2013/14 & 2014/15)
Specifically I would like to know;
A
How much is the education budget?
B
What percentage is spent on teachers’ salaries?
C
What percent is spent on paying supply teachers?
D
What percentage is spent on continuing professional development?

These figures reflect the Education, Sport and Culture budget as a whole.
As the accounts are based on the financial year, rather than the academic year, only 2014 and 2015 budget figures are provided.

This is a percentage of the gross Education, Sport and Culture budget, and includes head teachers, deputies, teachers, supply teachers and lecturers.
It does not include teaching assistants.

This is a percentage of the gross Education, Sport and Culture budget, and includes training, staff development and conference and course fees.
It doesn't include supply cover costs to release teachers for training, internally provided CPD, and excludes the costs of consultants.
