Request
With reference to a new AI (Artificial Intelligence) system called Brainomix e-stroke which was introduced by the NHS 2 years ago and has been used 111,000 times, please confirm if this is being done in Jersey, and if not, why not?
Response
Health and Community Services do not currently use the Brainomix e-stroke application, which has been deployed at 22 NHS trusts spanning 11 stroke treatment networks following a successful pilot study.
Health and Community Services are evaluating Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for consideration of procurement and implementation.
Factors requiring consideration include UK approval of any such AI application, along with AI application compatibility with tertiary centres that Jersey may refer patients to.
