Parking charges rate changes (FOI)

Request

I would like to know how much parking charges per unit were each year since the unit-based system was introduced, the percentage change and the equivalent RPI rate for Jersey in that year.

The attached document details the parking unit charges from 1991 to-date.

The car park section within Infrastructure, Housing and Environment does not maintain a list of the unit cost changes in a percentage format.

Therefore, this information is not held and Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

The RPI rate changes are publicly available on www.opendata.gov.je and can be downloaded from the link below. Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article 10 - Obligation of scheduled public authority to confirm or deny holding Information

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), if –

(a) a person makes a request for information to a scheduled public authority; and

(b) the authority does not hold the information, it must inform the applicant accordingly.

 Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
