Social security contributions of graduates who studied off-Island (FOI)

In order to better understand the local labour market I am requesting data on the percentage of returnee graduates studying abroad. For instance, of the 700 odd Jersey students studying their degree abroad, what proportion return to Jersey within 5 years of graduating i.e. are paying social security and are thus contributing to the dynamics of the labour market?
I would suspect around 40%, though this could be very wrong. Look forward to your response. Many thanks

In order to respond to this request, graduates in 2010 have been checked against social security contributions in the following years.

412 people graduated outside Jersey in 2010.*

Of these 412 people:

• 211 (51%) paid some contributions between January and September 2015
• 103 (25%) paid some contributions between 2011 and 2014, but not in 2015
• 98 (24%) have paid no contribution since graduating in 2010

*This figure includes only students who registered with student finance and also includes graduates of degrees, master’s degrees and teaching qualifications etc. This figure excludes those that graduated in Jersey, and those that undertook a one year art foundation course.
