The amount of taxicab licences in Jersey overall is currently capped at 311.
Operator licences to taxicab drivers or private hire firms are not issued.
Jersey does not have minicabs.

Information supplied as part of the process is not shared or validated with external parties other than the applicant.

The system used is a bespoke IT system (LICAR).
D
The information held since the implementation of the bespoke IT system is stored indefinitely.
Paperwork files held on any taxicab driver are retained for 10 years after they have retired.
