Please confirm the number of children in education in Jersey. This should include the number of children from Reception to Year 13.

Please confirm the number of teachers. in Jersey. This should include school teachers, heads, deputy heads and lecturers.

Please confirm the number of other staff employed within the Children, Young People, Education and Skills department (CYPES) in Jersey. This should include civil servants, manual workers, youth service staff. Highlands College managers, residential and childcare officers.
D
Please confime the number of teachers’ assistants. If included under question C above, please also show number separately.

The total number of children in education in Jersey including Reception to Year 13 is 14,061.
Please note this figure includes all Government of Jersey primary and secondary schools (fee-paying and non-fee-paying), special schools, non-provided (‘private’) schools, Highlands College (YR12 and YR13; Age 16-18), and Electively Home Educated (EHE) children. Figures taken from the school census January 2024.

As of 14 February 2024, the total FTE number of teachers for the Government of Jersey was 1052.45.

As of 14 February 2024, the total FTE number of other staff for the Government of Jersey was 808.96.
D
As of 14 February 2024, the total FTE number of teaching assistants for the Government of Jersey was 457.82 (not included in question C).
