On the 10 October 2023 the X account for @ChiefMinJSY tweeted: "Today we are displaying the flag of Israel at the Government office in Broad Street as a sign of our solidarity with the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel."
Please provide any email or written communications in relation to the decision to display the Israeli flag at the Government of Jersey office building, as well as the names of the Government of Jersey individual or individuals who were involved in suggesting it be displayed and the individual or individuals who gave the final approval for it to be displayed.

Article 25 - Personal information
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.
(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –
(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and
(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
Article 25 is an absolute exemption, and therefore does not require a public interest test.
However, it is noted that personal data, relating to the redaction of details of staff below a certain civil service grade, has been redacted within the correspondence, such redactions limited to the names and roles of less senior members of staff who therefore have a legitimate expectation of privacy.
