Request

In accordance with the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 on public authorities, I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following information in a question of two parts:

A

How many prisoners convicted of fraud have there been in the last five years?

B

How many of these prisoners received ROTL in the last five years?

Response

We are unable to provide a response to this request.

In accordance with the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011:

Article 16 - A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(3)     Regulations may provide that, in such circumstances as the Regulations prescribe, if two or more requests for information are made to a scheduled public authority –

(a)     by one person; or

(b)     by different persons who appear to the scheduled public authority to be acting in concert or in pursuance of a campaign,

the estimated cost of complying with any of the requests is to be taken to be the estimated total cost of complying with all of them.

This request is one of a number of similar requests relating to Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL). The Authority considers (on reasonable grounds) that the applicants are working in concert together and in pursuance of a campaign.

The cost of complying with these requests (including those to which a response has already been provided) will collectively exceed the cost limit (in excess of 12.5 hours at £40 per hour).
