In a previous Freedom of Information response regarding a ceasefire request by Jersey to the UK it stated:

The Minister for External Relations wrote to the UK Justice Minister with responsibility for the Crown Dependency relations on 13 March 2024 to inform him of the decision of the States Assembly taken in the Proposition. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) have also been made aware of the States Assembly decision.

Receipt of the letter was confirmed verbally by officers. There has been no written response at this time.

There has been no further written correspondence since the letter was sent on the 13 March 2024.

Please provide any updates to this position and the text to the original and subsequent communications sent and received, if any, and by whom please? 

Response

The Minister for External Relations raised the letter with Mike Freer, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, and the Lord Chancellor, when they met in April 2024.

There are no further updates, nor have there been further communications between the Government of Jersey and the UK Government in relation to the States Assembly Proposition P7-2024.
