Request
I would like to know how much the government are spending on parking and permits for all staff and contractors for the last 5 years. (Clarified: for health and social services)
If possible please break it down into department
If possible please break it down into clinical staff and non clinical staff
If possible please break it down into staff type
Response
The annual spend for each of the last five complete years, from 2019 to 2023, is detailed in the table attached, shown by Care Group / Directorate and as a total. Costs cannot be broken down by clinical and non-clinical staff utilisation, owing to overlap in use / provision.
Table Attachment.pdf
In addition to the information provided in the table attached, Health and Community Services rent parking in Patriotic Street car park, most of which is for patient use, though some staff provision is allocated. Throughout the timeframe, 20 spaces were allocated for utilisation across clinical and non-clinical staff, including for Health and Community Services’ fleet cars. Spend on this provision is equivalent at £40,310.40 per year, at current season ticket rates. 2024 spend will be less, as staff parking allocation has been reduced to 15 spaces, with the remainder converted to parking for blue badge holders.
