Request

I would like information regarding the creation of parking outside Clos des Sables homes due to the removal of the street parking. Specifically how much funding the residents received from the Government.

Attached is a web page article discussing the matter to assist with context.

Response

As part of the Overdale Reprovision Project (now called the Enid Quenault Health and Wellbeing Centre), a new access road and residents' parking was provided on a parcel of land owned by the Parish of St. Brelade, east of Le Clos des Sables. This access road was for the residents of six neighbouring properties (properties 157 to 162) to ensure they could park their cars off the road, away from the main flow of traffic, allowing for better visibility and accessibility to the new healthcare facility for Liberty Bus and visitors. Its purpose was also to make the area safer for local residents and pedestrians. This work was a requirement of the planning application for the Overdale Reprovision Project, the costs of which were included in the project.

During the design stage of this work, the Parish requested that an access road be created on a parcel of Parish owned land in front of houses 109 and 110. This request was also for health and safety reasons, and was funded by the Parish. The works to create both access roads were undertaken at the same time.

Residents of the eight properties did not receive any funding from the Parish of St. Brelade, nor the New Healthcare Facilities Programme.
