Crude birth rate

The crude birth rate is the number of births per thousand residents in a particular year. To calculate the crude birth rate, divide the number of births by the mid-year population estimate for that year and multiply by 1,000.

The fertility rate is the number of pregnancies per 1,000 women of child bearing age (defined as 15-44 years old).

Termination of pregnancy rates 

Crude termination of pregnancy rates calculated for women aged 15-44. To calculate the rates we divide the number of terminations to females in that age group, by the number of female residents in that age group.

Termination of pregnancy rates calculated for women aged 15-19, and women aged 20-24 years old. To calculate the rates we divide the number of terminations to females in that age group, by the number of female residents in that age group.
