Summary
On an annual basis:
- the seasonally adjusted total volume of retail sales in Jersey in Q2 2014 was 1% lower than in the corresponding quarter of 2013
- the volume of retail sales in the predominantly food sector was 1% higher than the corresponding quarter of 2013
- the volume of retail sales in the predominantly non-food sector was 2% lower than in the corresponding quarter of 2013 and a sixth (17%) lower than the peak volume recorded six years previously, in Q2 2008
On a quarterly basis:
- the seasonally adjusted total volume of retail sales in Q2 2014 was less than 1% lower than in the previous quarter (Q1 2014)
- the volume of retail sales in the predominantly food sector was at the same level as in the previous quarter (Q1 2014)
- the volume of retail sales in the predominantly non-food sector was 1% lower than in the previous quarter (Q1 2014)
